West Virginia is a state rich with numerous outdooring activities and abundant natural resources. West Virginia
is one of the most popular states in the US for outdoor recreation, hunting, and fishing.
Persons of all ages and abilities are able to enjoy the outdoor activities offered here in West Virginia. West
Virginia is a state that has worked hard to provide access to streams, ponds, outdoor areas, and hunting sites for persons
with disabilities.
Persons with disabilities
Individuals who suffer from disability are able to obtain a Class Q license for hunting
and fishing. A Class Q special resident hunting permit for persons permanently disabled
in the lower extremities entitles the holder to hunt all legal species of game during the designated hunting seasons. Permanently
disabled in the lower extremities means that the person is at least a paraplegic; a double amputee of both legs; or a person
that suffers from a similar disability that affects both legs and therefore requires that person to use crutches or a wheelchair
permanently in order to ambulate.
